Job Summary

The Assistant Production Supervisor is a key member of the Wilson Lumber Company team, responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor in the day-to-day operations of the Truss Plant. This role requires a strong commitment to creating a work environment where employees want to excel and contribute to the company's success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coach and Motivate the Production Team: Provide guidance and support to the production crew to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively to meet production objectives.
  • Communicate Effectively: Maintain open communication with the management staff and production team to ensure that production objectives are met and any issues are addressed promptly.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality: Comply with all OSHA safety requirements and ensure that all orders meet the highest standards of quality.
  • Organize Workflow: Plan and organize the workflow to ensure the completion of the production schedule with minimal waste and abuse of equipment.
  • Manage Production Costs: Take all necessary action to manage production costs and improve profit margins.
  • Lead by Example: Provide a positive and motivating example for employees and conduct training or authorize training of production employees as needed.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent: A bachelor's degree or equivalent years of industry experience is required.
  • Operations Management Experience: A minimum of 2+ years' experience in operations management, and/or production management in the construction industry or construction-related industry is required.
  • Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand for long periods of time, lift at least 50 pounds, and wear all required Personal Protective Equipment.
