Position Overview
As a key member of the Materials Management team, the Buyer is responsible for executing procurement activities, ensuring timely order placements with vendors, and performing essential data entry tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage order placements and follow up on delivery schedules, backorders, and substitutions.
  • Support the Materials Management Director by assisting with exception reports.
  • Facilitate department item and order requests to maintain compliance with GPO (HPG) contracts.
  • Assist with warehouse receiving operations as needed.

Qualifications
Required Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Preferred Education:
Technical School or 1 Year of College

Essential Skills:
  • Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in healthcare procurement processes.
  • Strong computer skills with the ability to navigate various software.
  • Advanced knowledge of procurement practices.
  • Familiarity with hospital acute care settings and operations.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in work approach.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with Meditech software.
  • Knowledge of HealthTrust and Cardinal Market Place website navigation.
