Position Overview
The Procurement Specialist will be responsible for managing the purchasing process within the Materials Management department. This role involves placing orders with suppliers and performing essential data entry tasks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Execute orders with vendors and monitor order statuses, including delivery timelines and backorders.
  • Assist the Materials Management Director with exception reporting and compliance with Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts.
  • Support departmental item and order requests to ensure adherence to procurement standards.
  • Provide assistance with warehouse receiving operations as necessary.

Qualifications
Required Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Education:
Technical School or one year of college experience.

Essential Skills:
  • Outstanding customer service and communication abilities.
  • Experience in healthcare procurement processes.
  • Proficient in navigating personal computers and advanced procurement systems.
  • Knowledge of hospital operations and acute care settings.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic.

Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with Excel spreadsheets.
  • Familiarity with Meditech systems.
  • Ability to navigate HealthTrust and Cardinal Market Place websites.
