About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Care Partner to join our team at Kensington Senior Living. As a Care Partner, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care and support to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, grooming, feeding, mobility, toileting, and participation in life enrichment activities.
  • Participate in the new hire interviewing and training process, including involvement in group interviewing, providing a job preview for potential candidates, and ensuring new hires are teamed up with experienced care managers.
  • Assist the neighborhood director with staff scheduling, assignment of breaks, and ensuring all care manager shifts are adequately covered.
  • Provide ongoing problem-solving, assistance, and support to the care management team throughout the daily shift, ensuring timely and accurate documentation is completed.
  • Ensure the housekeeping and laundry services are completed for all residents, including weekly cleaning, special cleaning as required, daily tidies, and laundry.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation is completed at the end of each shift, and cross-over meetings are carried out between shifts to communicate important information.
  • Assist in maintaining resident charts, communicating changes and unusual observations concerning residents' physical and psychosocial functioning, and providing input to resident individualized service plans.
  • Improve the performance of the operation by providing staff performance feedback, identifying supply and equipment needs, and reporting maintenance problems.
  • Maintain all work and service areas in clean and orderly condition.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emergency procedures and be able to act in a leadership role during an emergency.
Requirements
  • Must have excellent verbal skills and communication abilities.
  • Ability to lead effectively within a team-based environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and families.
  • Knowledge of appropriate Kensington Senior Living policies and procedures.
  • Ability to calculate figures related to amounts such as percentages and area.
  • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Qualifications
  • Must be able to clearly and proficiently communicate with people of all ages and abilities, displaying consideration of their rights and sensitivities, while maintaining an energetic, positive attitude.
  • Must be able to read and write English, and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must maintain a clean and well-groomed appearance and follow the dress code as outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings.
  • Be in good health, and physically and mentally capable of performing assigned tasks.
  • Demonstrates freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis by a health screening performed by a physician not more than (6) months prior to or (7) days after employment.
  • Must be cleared in a criminal background check administered in the state of Virginia.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Nurse Aide Certification or equivalent is required.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age unless certified in Virginia as a Nurse Aide.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience and proven excellent performance working as a Certified Nurse Assistant, including some medical/surgical or home care experience and awareness of the needs of geriatric residents.
