Product Engineer Job Description

Edge Autonomy is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Product Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in developing solutions for complex systems across various industries.

This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage medium to large-sized projects involving complex systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical efforts for medium to large-sized projects, often managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and implement advanced products for complex systems, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and product managers, to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and less senior technical leads.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed documentation for product designs, test procedures, and user manuals.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4-10+ years of experience in product engineering, with a focus on complex systems such as drones, medical devices, complex consumer electronics, or automobiles.
  • Proven experience in managing medium to large-sized projects from concept to production.
  • Strong background in technical innovation and project management.
  • Customer-facing experience is preferred.
  • Experience with defense contracts is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
  • In-depth knowledge of product engineering principles, including design, development, testing, and maintenance.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build strong working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
