Position Overview:
The Power Systems Engineer will be instrumental in the development of a new energy generation facility by assisting in the design and evaluation of the facility's electrical systems and infrastructure.
They will work alongside diverse teams to formulate comprehensive strategies for energy generation apparatus and distribution frameworks while ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulations.
During the construction phase, the engineer will carry out assessments and evaluations to confirm quality and efficiency, address any challenges that may arise, and manage documentation and reporting.
Their contributions will facilitate the smooth integration and successful activation of the facility's electrical systems, ultimately ensuring its dependable and efficient operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Planning:
Develop precise plans and diagrams for the facility's electrical systems, encompassing energy generation apparatus, switchgear, transformers, control systems, and distribution frameworks.
Compliance and Safety:
Guarantee that all electrical designs and installations meet local, national, and international safety standards and regulations.
Inspection and Testing:
Conduct regular assessments and evaluations on electrical systems and equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. Commission new systems and troubleshoot existing ones as necessary.
Project Management:
Supervise the electrical components of the construction project, coordinating with other engineers, contractors, and project managers to adhere to timelines and budget constraints.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive records of electrical designs, inspections, test results, and modifications. Prepare reports on the performance and reliability of the facility's electrical systems.
Problem-Solving:
Tackle and resolve issues or challenges related to the facility's electrical systems, including electrical faults and system optimization.
Collaboration:
Collaborate closely with other engineering disciplines to ensure the seamless integration and functionality of all components of the energy generation facility.
Training and Mentorship:
Provide guidance and training to junior engineers and team members on electrical systems and safety practices.
Qualifications:
Experience in electrical design, installation, and inspection in energy generation facilities or similar environments.
Strong knowledge of electrical safety standards and regulations.
Proven experience with project management and overseeing construction projects.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 3 years of experience.
Compensation and Benefits:
Employment (W2) and Professional Services Contract (480) available.
Support during extended hours including weekends, as per business needs.
