Position Overview:
The Facilities Marine Engineer will be an integral member of the Gulf of Mexico Facilities and Construction Marine Engineering Team, supporting the Gulf of Mexico Business Unit in managing both short-term and long-term planning while overseeing program execution in compliance with company policies and procedures. This role involves close collaboration with the Assets, Plants, and Operational Support teams to gather, analyze, and reconcile essential data for effective plan execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement technical solutions for challenges related to the marine operations of Oxy's floating assets.
  • Collaborate with the drilling and completions teams to ensure technical validation of rig mobilizations.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues concerning top tension riser systems.
  • Work with external service providers to engineer solutions for offshore challenges.
  • Oversee the activities of third-party services to assess potential platform expansions regarding weight, global performance, mooring, and structural integrity.
  • Create marine-related procedures for departmental and offshore use.
  • Conduct technical reviews and approvals of design deliverables from engineering contractors.
Qualifications:

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (preferably in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering).
  • Professional Engineer license is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience in the offshore sector.
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience in offshore floater design, construction, and operation.
  • At least 5 years of experience in the design and construction of subsea tiebacks/brownfield projects.
  • Experience with Tension Leg Platforms (TLP) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with stability and global performance of floating production facilities.
  • Knowledge of riser strength and fatigue considerations.
  • Experience working with Classification and Regulatory authorities on marine and offshore projects.
  • Proficient in managing offshore work teams, including HSE, contracting, equipment, personnel logistics, procedure development, job hazard analysis, risk analysis, and daily offshore operations.
