Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced faculty member to join our team at the University of Central Oklahoma. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching a variety of courses in the School of Criminal Justice, including introductory undergraduate to graduate level courses. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in teaching, research, and service, and will be able to contribute to curriculum development and program revisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach a variety of courses in the School of Criminal Justice, including introductory undergraduate to graduate level courses
  • Contribute to curriculum development and program revisions
  • Participate in research and scholarly activities
  • Engage in service to the institution, including department, college, and university committees
  • Prepare departmental reports as requested
Requirements

To be considered for this position, applicants must have an earned doctorate degree in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or Sociology from a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution. ABD candidates with a clear dissertation defense date will be considered. The successful candidate will also have a strong background in teaching, research, and service, and will be able to contribute to curriculum development and program revisions.

Preferred Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include experience in teaching a variety of topics, including research methods and technologies used by criminal justice professionals. The successful candidate will also have a demonstrated ability to participate in academic research and will be able to contribute to curriculum development and program revisions.

Working Conditions

The successful candidate will be expected to work in a collaborative manner with colleagues and professional peers, and will be required to participate in university meetings and committees as requested. The position is a full-time, tenure-track position, and the successful candidate will be expected to engage in teaching, research, and service activities.
