Position Details:

We are seeking a qualified accountant to fill the role of Senior Tax Associate/Senior Tax Return Preparer. The Senior Tax Associate will be responsible for preparing complex tax returns for various entities, including corporations, partnerships, individuals, trusts, and estates, as well as not-for-profit organizations. The role requires a deep understanding of intricate tax scenarios and collaboration with Tax Managers and Partners to address these challenges by applying knowledge of local, state, and federal tax regulations.

The successful candidate will work closely with tax managers and partners to gather necessary information from clients to prepare comprehensive work papers and schedules that support the reported amounts on tax returns. Responsibilities include preparing Forms 1120, 1120S, 1065, 1040, 1041, and Forms 990 and 990-EZ, along with all associated schedules and statements, as well as state and local tax filings.

As this is a client-facing role, regular office attendance is expected to facilitate collaboration with team members, attend meetings, and support Tax Associates.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Gather and organize client tax documentation
  • Prepare complex individual, passthrough, and non-profit income tax returns
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations
  • Assist clients with tax inquiries and audits
  • Collaborate with tax and audit teams

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • CPA certification
  • Minimum of five years of tax accounting experience
  • Experience with not-for-profit tax preparation is a plus
  • Knowledge of IRS regulations
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in accounting or tax
  • Familiarity with CCH Axcess Tax software
  • Experience with CCH Engagement software
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
