Orthotist Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Orthotist to join our team at Geisinger. As an Orthotist, you will be responsible for evaluating patients' conditions and determining the necessary treatment.
About the JobThis is a full-time position that offers a competitive salary of $80,000 per year, plus a $10K recruitment forgivable loan with a 24-month work commitment. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Evaluate patients' conditions and determine the necessary treatment
- Select the appropriate prefabricated orthosis or design a custom orthosis to provide the prescribed outcome
- Measure and cast patients, correct and modify positive molds, and provide complete design specifications for the orthosis
- Fits patients with completed orthoses and adjusts them as necessary to achieve optimal function
- Provides instruction to patients and families on proper use and care of the orthosis
- Documents all patient contacts according to established departmental and hospital procedures
To be successful in this role, you must have a Bachelor's Degree and be certified as a Certified Orthotist by the American Board for Certification in Orthotics, Prosthetics, and Pedorthics (ABCOP). You should also have excellent communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a clinical environment.
