Job Summary

Middlebury College is seeking a part-time Dining Services Staff Member to join our team. As a key member of our dining services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our dining facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve food and beverages to students and staff in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Maintain a clean and safe dining environment, including the salad bar, serving lines, and surrounding areas.
  • Restock food and beverage items as needed to ensure a continuous supply.
  • Provide excellent customer service to students and staff, responding to their questions and concerns in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Assist with cleaning and sanitizing the dining area, including tables, chairs, and equipment.
  • Unload and stack dishes, glassware, and silverware in the dish room, and sort and store utensils and equipment.
  • Wash and sanitize pots, pans, and kitchen utensils, and store them in their designated areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Dining Room Manager or Commons Chef.
Requirements
  • No prior experience is required, but a willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment is essential.
  • Ability to lift 10-20 pounds frequently and to stand for long periods of time.
  • Good math skills and ability to make change.
  • Ability to work in a hot and humid environment.
