Job Summary

As a Principal Data Engineering Director at Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., you will lead a team of engineers, analysts, and product managers in the planning, delivery, and operations of world-class data solutions. Your expertise in data engineering and big data applications will drive the company's technology strategy and roadmaps. You will work with business stakeholders, engineering, data science, and platform teams to evolve, deliver, and support data solutions. Your responsibilities will include managing technical teams, developing strategic projects, and leveraging industry best practices to define engineering standards. You will also be accountable for the delivery of development and operational efforts.

Requirements

This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field, and ten years of progressive experience as a Director - Principal Engineer or related occupation in data engineering and big data applications. Your experience must have included architecture design and development of large-scale data platforms and data applications in cloud environments, building highly performant and scalable data ingestion pipelines, and hands-on experience with cloud-based big data technologies. You must also have experience in monitoring, debugging, and troubleshooting cloud managed services, metadata management, high availability, and suggesting efficient and reliable patterns. Additionally, you must have experience in programming languages such as Python, Scala, Java, and C#, enterprise security protocols, building RESTful services, and best practices in cloud deployments.
