Sales Director

Brewster, New York, United States Peckham Industries Full time
About Us

At Peckham Industries, we pride ourselves on being a family-run business with a strong commitment to our community. Our "family by choice" ethos has been the foundation of our success since 1924. We deliver value to our customers through our extensive network of hot mix asphalt and ready-mix concrete plants, quarries, and liquid asphalt terminals. Our construction operations include paving and road reclamation services, as well as precast/prestressed concrete production and erection of multi-level parking structures, specialty buildings, and bridge components.

Job Summary

The Precast Sales Manager is responsible for driving business development and sales to grow revenue in targeted structural concrete markets. This role requires building strong relationships with developers, general contractors, owners, and architects to optimize the use of precast/prestressed concrete in design and to grow the revenue line for the business. This is a remote-based position within the northeast region, with occasional travel required to meet with customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop strategic sales plans to meet/exceed sales revenue and profit targets and all corporate goals.
  2. Target and acquire new projects by building strong relationships with existing and new customers, articulating the value that Peckham Industries brings to owners and contractors.
  3. Work closely with the project development and estimating team to optimize projects for customers through value engineering to deliver higher profit potentials.
  4. Act as the technical expert in design, leading and reviewing work of technical sub-subcontractors and experts within the discipline.
  5. Lead engagement/business development strategies with industry constituents, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  6. Develop and be accountable for "backlog" (proposals, bids, budgets, GMPs, ROMs).
  7. Conceptual input to fill in design gaps for incomplete documents for the completion of estimates, ensuring estimators have the most current design information.
  8. Lead internal estimate review and bid process team meetings.
  9. Lead/manage and represent Peckham Industries in design and coordination meetings, maintaining an action log for outstanding items and assigning responsibility.
  10. Lead/manage the effectiveness of team liaison between operations, estimating, and design management.
Requirements, Education, and Experience

We are seeking a highly qualified individual with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management. The ideal candidate will have 5-10 years of increasing responsibilities in a precast/prestressed technical sales role or related experience. They must be able to develop a strategy for revenue growth and deliver on that strategy. Familiarity with IBC building codes, PCI, and ACI design requirements is required. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary for internal members, customers, and project stakeholders. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Forms, is also required. Auto Cad, Solid Works, Revit, or BIM experience is preferred. The candidate must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position is $115,000 - $130,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
