Job Summary

University Hospitals is seeking a highly skilled Athletic Trainer to support our athletic programs by providing comprehensive fitness, nutrition, and injury care services. As an integral member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional care to our athletes, ensuring their optimal performance and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Athlete Evaluation and Care: Conduct thorough evaluations of athletes on and off the field, providing immediate care as needed and developing effective treatment plans tailored to their specific needs.
  • Treatment Techniques and Education: Select and utilize a variety of treatment techniques, educating athletes and their families on applicable treatment and prevention methods.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping: Regularly use and maintain up-to-date documentation via our preferred injury tracking software, ensuring accurate and timely records.
  • Administrative Support: Assist the Athletic Director in ordering supplies, maintaining current inventories, and performing other administrative tasks as needed.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Sports Medicine or a related field.
  • Credentials and Certifications: Board of Certification (BOC) - Certified, Licensed by the Ohio Board of Certification to practice athletic training in the State of Ohio.
  • Experience and Knowledge: Minimum 1 year of experience as an ATC, with specific experience in general principles of injury prevention and first aid required.
Requirements
  • Physical and Cognitive Abilities: Must be physically and cognitively able to provide care and assist in moving people and/or equipment.
  • Confidentiality and Security: This role involves handling Protected Health Information (PHI) and requires adherence to all requirements for safe and secure maintenance of PHI for our patients.
