Position Overview

As a Rental Technician, you will play a crucial role in delivering and retrieving equipment and supplies from customer job sites using vehicles with a gross weight of less than 26,000 pounds.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load, unload, and secure equipment for transport.
  • Transport equipment and supplies over long distances.
  • Demonstrate proper equipment usage to customers upon delivery.
  • Service equipment as needed to maintain optimal operating conditions at job sites.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and the Service Manager regarding equipment issues to ensure satisfaction.
  • Refuel equipment on-site as necessary.
  • Conduct safety inspections on equipment and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as required.
  • Keep the work vehicle clean and well-maintained to ensure safety.
  • Adhere to all company, governmental, and equipment-related safety regulations.
  • Complete inspection reports for outgoing and returned equipment, maintaining logs and trip sheets in compliance with D.O.T. and company record-keeping standards.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Effective communication skills in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries and effectively present information to management.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations.
  • Problem-solving skills to identify issues and develop solutions.
  • Preferred 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of tractor-trailer operation and hauling.
  • Possession of mechanic's tools and equipment for safe and effective use.
  • Familiarity with delivery areas and safety requirements for equipment handling is advantageous.
  • Willingness to work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends and holidays.

The physical demands of this role include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds or more, with the need to work indoors and outdoors as required.
