Job Title: Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (Travel)

We are seeking a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our team of traveling professionals. As a COTA, you will work with patients to help them develop the skills they need to live independently.

Job Summary:

This is a 13-week contract position working in Spokane Valley, WA. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a COTA and possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality care and support.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide patient care as an Occupational Therapy Assistant to patients in assigned facilities.
  • Assist patients under the direction of an Occupational Therapist to maximize their potential in activities of daily living.
  • Construct adaptive equipment and self-help devices as recommended by the OT.
  • Assist the OT in instructing and educating patients and families for home care and carryover.
  • Properly and accurately document and chart observations and other data related to the clinical condition of the patient.
  • Deliver age-appropriate care for the patient population.
  • Attend and participate in continuing education programs to monitor proficiency, expand current knowledge, and enhance professional excellence.
Requirements:
  • Must possess independent decision-making skills.
  • Solid understanding of patient safety and precautions.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, and families.
  • Ability to relate positively to residents and families and work cooperatively with other employees.
  • Meet all local health regulations and successfully complete a post-offer health assessment.
  • Physical and sensory requirements include walking, reaching, climbing, bending, lifting, grasping, fine hand coordination, pushing, and pulling, as well as the ability to hear and respond to pages, read and write, and communicate verbally and in writing.
Work Experience:

At least 2 years of experience as a COTA is required for this position.
