Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an innovative seven-day a week activity program that is engaging and stimulating for residents.
  • Lead and implement one-on-one, small group, and large group activities according to the programming schedule.
  • Support and encourage residents to participate in activities, both individually and in small groups.
  • Understand and support the resident's abilities, recognizing that all aspects of care can be viewed as an activity.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families to ensure a high level of care and support.
  • Stay with groups at all times when on excursions.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
  • Training and knowledge in recreational activities and Alzheimer's and related dementias.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, demonstrate a positive attitude, and work well under pressure.
