Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate Memory Care Activity Assistant to join our team. As a Memory Care Activity Assistant, you will be responsible for organizing and implementing programs designed to meet the individual needs of our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an innovative seven-day a week activity program that is engaging and stimulating for residents.
- Lead and implement one-on-one, small group, and large group activities according to the programming schedule.
- Support and encourage residents to participate in activities, both individually and in small groups.
- Understand and support the resident's abilities, recognizing that all aspects of care can be viewed as an activity.
- Communicate effectively with residents, staff, and families to ensure a high level of care and support.
- Stay with groups at all times when on excursions.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience and knowledge of aging and disability issues.
- Training and knowledge in recreational activities and Alzheimer's and related dementias.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding residents, staff, and the community.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks, demonstrate a positive attitude, and work well under pressure.
