Position: Instrumentation Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, calibrate, and maintain an array of instruments and control systems, such as pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature sensors, level transmitters, control valves, and analytical devices.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with instruments and control systems, implementing effective solutions.
  • Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure optimal performance and reliability of instruments and control systems.
  • Perform instrument loop checks, calibration, and validation in accordance with established protocols and standards.
  • Collaborate with maintenance teams and operational staff to coordinate maintenance tasks and minimize downtime.
  • Adhere to safety protocols to maintain a secure working environment for all personnel.
  • Document and maintain precise records of instrument maintenance, repairs, and calibration activities.
  • Stay informed about new technologies and industry trends in instrumentation and control systems, suggesting improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship and training to junior technicians or apprentices as needed.
  • Comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to instrumentation and control systems.

Qualifications:

  • Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply, bringing their valuable skills and dedication to the role.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; completion of a technical program in instrumentation or a related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as an instrumentation technician, ideally in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, control systems, and measurement techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical and instrument diagrams, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Experience in instrument calibration, loop checking, and troubleshooting using specialized tools and equipment.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and SCADA systems is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical circuits and capability to perform basic electrical tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve issues effectively.
  • Attention to detail and precision in work.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Physical stamina to perform tasks that may include standing, bending, and lifting.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and on-call duties as necessary.
