Job Title: Staff Algorithm Scientist

Cytek Biosciences, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Staff Algorithm Scientist to join our Flow Cytometry team. As a key member of our software, algorithms, and application development engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and deploying sophisticated image and signal processing and data classification algorithms for multi-spectral and cell imaging platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and deploy algorithmic solutions to support real-time instrument operation, including object detection, segmentation, and instrument calibration.
  • Contribute key features in the development of the next-generation spectral and imaging flow cytometry analysis software.
  • Employ software libraries, tools, and best practices to implement efficient, scalable, and reusable software solutions.
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with our interdisciplinary R&D teams to research and solve complex problems to facilitate new product development and improve existing products.
  • Provide guidance both within and outside the team on algorithms that impact instrument operation and data analysis for different applications.
Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. (preferred) or M.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with a strong foundation in image and signal processing theory, statistical classification, and high-dimensional data analysis methods and experience in their practice.
  • 7+ years (10+ years for M.S.) of professional experience developing, implementing, and testing complex algorithms in C++ in production environments.
  • Deep knowledge of Python and working with machine learning platforms such as TensorFlow/Keras/PyTorch required.
  • Experience in cloud computing and/or GPU programming for image data a bonus.
  • Ability to evaluate technical complexity for potential market opportunities.
  • Open and responsive to new ideas with the ability to develop creative and practical solutions to difficult problems.
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility to changing priorities and needs, attention to detail, and multi-tasking ability.
  • Proficient in oral and written technical communication, including researching and writing papers and reports and making technical presentations to a wide audience.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a high degree of comfort working with cross-functional teams.
