Job Summary

Catholic Charities is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Early Childhood Educator to join our team. As an Infant and Toddler Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in implementing age-appropriate curriculum and promoting the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development of our young students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care and supervision to a class of infants and toddlers (6 weeks-3 years old) in accordance with our core curriculum.
  • Promote the health, safety, and well-being of students through a consistent schedule of supervised recreation, snacks, and naps.
  • Assist with the completion of accurate, informative daily reports for each student.
  • Maintain a sanitary, attractive, and orderly learning environment within the assigned classroom.
  • Interface with parents in a professional and cordial manner.
  • Participate in unscheduled and scheduled supervisory conferences.
  • Attend and participate in staff and parent meetings, as well as training and professional development sessions as required by State regulations or funding sources.
Qualifications
  • Hold a High School diploma or GED and at least 540 hours of documented experience working with unrelated infant/toddler children.
  • Enroll in a CDA program within the second year of employment, leading to receiving an Infant & Toddler Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Professional Recognition by the third year of employment.
  • Experience working with OEC CDC or similar programs preferred.
  • Ability to perform rigorous physical tasks and to care for very active young children.
  • Ability to stand for most of the day, bend, stand up, run, jump suddenly to respond to children's needs or during activities.
  • Ability to lift/carry children up to 50 pounds.
  • Possess the personal qualities necessary to care for and work with children.
  • Be at least 18 years of age.
