Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Front Desk Clerk to join our team at the Fairbanks Westmark Hotel and Conference Center. As a key member of our Hotel Services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our guests, processing reservations and transactions, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, responding to their queries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Process and monitor credit card transactions, verifying successful completion and maintaining accurate records.
  • Work under moderate supervision to evaluate customer needs, provide information, and generate sales.
  • Maintain accurate records of reservations and transactions within appropriate logs.
  • Perform clerical duties as required by departmental supervision.
  • Answer calls from customers, employees, and management to respond to guests' queries and process guest requests.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent certification is required. Six months of experience as a Front Desk Clerk in the hospitality industry is preferred.
  • One year of customer service experience is required.
  • Must be 18 years of age.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check that includes a credit check.

  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.
Skills and Abilities
  • Proficiency in the use of computer business applications, with working knowledge of computerized accounting, hotel reservations, and point-of-service systems.
  • Ability to prioritize work, maintain attention to time constraints, and work in a team or group environment.
  • Ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, and supervise and manage staff and guest requests.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management, employees, and customers with sensitivity, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Demonstrate an ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate, coordinate, and collaborate with multiple departments, management, and staff.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines, including all company health and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
