About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team as a Unit Coordinator in our Short Stay/Observation Unit at Sentara Obici Hospital. As a Unit Coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the unit, providing clinical leadership, and promoting excellent patient care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing staff in the delivery of patient care.
  • Assist with staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless patient care and transitions.
  • Provide education and training to nursing staff on new policies, procedures, and best practices.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 18 months of nursing experience, preferably in a medical surgical or observation unit.
  • BSN degree required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Valid Virginia or multistate nursing license in good standing.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
