Job Summary

As a Field Technician with Dibble Engineering, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful completion of municipal and private construction projects utilizing trenchless technologies. Your primary responsibility will be to perform onsite monitoring and inspections to ensure adherence to contract documents, maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance when interacting with clients, staff, and the general public.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough inspections of construction sites to identify any structural or operational defects present within pipe interiors.
  • Verify compliance with contract documents by inspecting and observing construction activities.
  • Assist in improving operations, processes, coordination, communication, quality, and site safety.
  • Prepare clear, comprehensive, and accurate daily observation reports documenting field activities.
  • Interact with clients and the general public, responding to questions with confidence while maintaining a professional demeanor.
  • Review closed-circuit television (CCTV) video images of pipe interiors to determine condition for quality assurance review and determination of contractor compliance with project specifications.
  • Attend regular project status meetings and contribute to the success of the project and the company.
  • Effectively utilize Microsoft Office software suite to collect, copy, transfer, print, save, and file digital files into a predetermined file structure for future retrieval.
  • Communicate effectively with both the project team and the general public.
  • Ensure all project documentation is obtained prior to any field activities performed by the contractor.
  • Maintain equipment in good, clean working order.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED; Associates degree preferred.
  • 2-3 years of experience in field inspection or similar type experience.
  • Possess knowledge of basic engineering design and layout principles and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and positively in a team environment.
  • Ability to obtain the National Association of Sanitary Service Company (NASSCO) Pipeline Assessment Certification Program (PACP) and Lateral Assessment and Certification Program (LACP).
  • Prior utility installation experience helpful. Previous construction monitoring or trenchless pipe rehabilitation in the wastewater industry a plus.
Working Conditions

This role requires regular evening and weekend work, possible shift or on-call work, and extended periods working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Physical and Work Requirements

This position requires driving to job sites and standing for extended periods. Some heavy lifting of more than 25 lbs. may be required.
