Radiation Oncology Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Radiation Oncology Nurse to join our team at Catholic Health Initiatives. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care through the use of the nursing processes and providing leadership by working cooperatively with nursing and other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting.
Key Responsibilities- Perform weekly physical assessments on patients, obtain medical history, social history, and psychological history, and facilitate the ordering of laboratory and radiographic studies.
- Ensure results of these studies are documented electronically.
- Provide psychological support to both inpatients and outpatients, families, and significant others through education and counseling.
- Develop and maintain radiation oncology educational material for staff and patients.
- Work with the nurse navigator of cancer services to ensure proper education of patients.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Currently licensed in Tennessee or Georgia (based on location) or eligible for licensure.
- BCLS required within probationary period.
- RN with OCN certification within 6 months if employee has current oncology experience meeting ONCC practice guidelines for certification testing.
- ACLS certification.
- Competitive pay rate of $43.05/hour.
