Job Description Summary

JLL is seeking a skilled Material Handler to support our team. This role involves working with various stakeholders at a client site, providing a range of support services to the client office. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and a team player attitude.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and manage requests in the client's waste stream profile system
  • Transport hazardous and non-hazardous lab waste to designated locations
  • Monitor and manage shipping preparation services
  • Inspect drums for proper labeling and close containers according to checklists
  • Palletize and prepare shipments according to checklists
  • Follow checklists with attention to detail and plan work to ensure efficient completion within required timelines
  • Follow all Health and Safety rules, including personal protective equipment and material handling instructions
  • Operate motor vehicles to transport tools and materials
  • Communicate with lab occupants and requestors for non-compliant waste shipments
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, labels, liners, and other materials
Additional Responsibilities
  • Receive, sort, process, and distribute incoming packages and pallets
  • Pick-up, process, validate documentation, and handoff to the designated freight supplier for all client-outgoing packages
  • Prepare and ship non-regulated packages received daily
  • Ensure all shipments of Hazardous Waste are loaded and secured in the truck before departure
  • Record and label materials
  • Process desktop shipping labels for outbound shipments
  • Utilize handheld devices to scan and record all incoming and outgoing packages
  • Identify, sort, and manage good and bad pallet inventories for mail, shipping, and receiving operations
  • Weigh and record weight of corrugated material and bundle for shipment daily
  • Prepare courier packages, coordinating pick-up and delivery, confirming delivery/receipt with stakeholders, and resolving related issues in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Valid Minnesota Driver's License
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft products such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong customer service skills
  • A high degree of accuracy is required for handling sensitive equipment and proper routing of shipments
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple work streams and priorities
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. repeatedly
  • Lifting, bending, twisting
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment
