Job Overview

Objective:
To ensure the cleanliness and upkeep of guest accommodations by performing various cleaning tasks and providing essential linen services.


Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize cleaning duties by adhering to the room assignment list, focusing on rooms that require early attention.
  • Announce your presence by knocking on doors and returning later to occupied rooms.
  • Prepare beds by changing sheets and pillowcases, and inspecting blankets and bedspreads for cleanliness.
  • Clear away any debris by disposing of trash, newspapers, room service items, and mini-bar contents.
  • Maintain bathroom hygiene by cleaning tubs, toilets, and sinks; replacing used towels and bathmats with fresh linens.
  • Restock room supplies, including toiletries and stationery items.
  • Ensure floor cleanliness through washing and vacuuming.
  • Preserve furniture condition by dusting and polishing surfaces, including glass items.
  • Conserve energy by adjusting shades and draperies, and managing air conditioning and heating in unoccupied rooms.
  • Notify supervisors of room readiness to maintain availability.
  • Keep housekeeping carts stocked at the end of each shift.
  • Ensure equipment functionality by following operating guidelines, troubleshooting issues, and performing maintenance tasks.
  • Uphold a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to established standards and security protocols.
  • Enhance professional knowledge by engaging in training opportunities.
  • Contribute to the reputation of the housekeeping department and the hotel by taking ownership of new requests and seeking ways to add value to the role.
