Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Dietary Assistant to join our team at Norwood Crossing. As a Dietary Assistant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of food service to our skilled nursing patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Clinical Dietitian with food service operations to ensure accurate and timely delivery of meals to patients.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Dietitian and Production Manager to maintain the highest standards of food quality and safety.
  • Monitor and maintain the cleanliness and sanitation of food preparation and serving areas.
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of food and supplies.
  • Assist with menu planning and preparation, including updating resident specials and bulk feeding sheets as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Dietitian to ensure that all patients receive the correct diet at the specified time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Dietitian or Production Manager.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
  • Patience, tact, cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds up to a maximum of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 4 feet unassisted and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
Working Conditions

The Dietary Assistant will work in a fast-paced food service environment, with frequent exposure to food, cleaning supplies, and equipment. The ability to walk or stand 85% of the time at work is required.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. The ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential. A positive attitude, patience, and a cheerful disposition are also required.
