Job Summary

The Corrosion Technician III position is a critical role within the Corrosion Department, responsible for ensuring the integrity of cathodic protection systems and equipment used for corrosion control. This position requires a high level of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct compliance surveys and inspections to ensure adherence to applicable codes, standards, and procedures.
  • Perform timely cathodic protection troubleshooting and create remediation work orders as needed.
  • Design and implement cathodic protection systems, including the installation of anodes, insulators, and test stations.
  • Monitor and mitigate Alternating Current (AC) issues.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to junior technicians and contribute to the development of corrosion control policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure timely completion of tasks and projects.
Requirements
  • Associate degree in a technical or trade school with a math, electrical, or science-based curriculum.
  • High school diploma with equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • NACE CP2 Certification (Cathodic Protection Technician) and NACE Corrosion Technologist Certification or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • NACE CP3 (Cathodic Protection Technologist) and NACE Sr. Corrosion Technologist Certification.
  • NACE CIP 1 or NACE PCS 1.
Working Conditions

This position requires frequent local travel with occasional overnight travel. The incumbent will work in both office and field environments, with exposure to varying outdoor weather conditions and potential hazards.
