Role Overview
The Unit Clerk plays a vital role in the healthcare team by performing essential administrative and clerical tasks. This position is responsible for maintaining confidential patient records, managing supplies, and ensuring the smooth operation of the unit. The Unit Clerk will greet and assist visitors, providing a welcoming atmosphere while managing various administrative duties such as scheduling appointments, processing orders, and entering data into the system in accordance with established protocols.
Key Responsibilities- Perform receptionist and secretarial duties while adhering to confidentiality standards.
- Greet and direct patients and visitors, fostering a friendly and professional environment.
- Manage computer data entry, appointment scheduling, and order processing efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures regarding patient information and unit operations.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Successful completion of a competency-based orientation program is mandatory.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from an accredited organization is required within specified timeframes.
Work Environment
This position is part-time, primarily working night shifts, with a commitment to providing quality care during designated hours. Flexibility in scheduling is essential, as weekend shifts may be required.
