Activity Director Position Overview

The Activity Director is responsible for planning, organizing, and directing the overall operation of the Activity Department in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement activity programs to meet the interests and needs of residents.
  • Assist in the development and administration of department policies and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with current regulations and professional standards of practice.

  • Participate in community planning and discharge planning.

Requirements:
  • Minimum of two years of college education.

  • Two years of experience in a social or recreation program within the last five years.
  • Ability to make independent decisions.
  • Knowledge of regulations governing activity services in nursing care facilities.
  • Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, and visitors.
