Job Summary:

Riverside Medical Clinic is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to coordinate and facilitate the admission process for pre-scheduled patients to the Surgery Center. As an RN, you will review patient information, initiate communication with licensed independent practitioners, and collect and evaluate information for pre-scheduled patients.

About the Role:

  • You will be responsible for coordinating the admission process for pre-scheduled patients to the Surgery Center.
  • You will review patient information for admissions and initiate communication with licensed independent practitioners to ensure proper admission criteria.
  • You will collect, review, and evaluate information for pre-scheduled patients and organize the admission chart.
  • You will communicate pertinent information to the licensed independent practitioner and appropriate nursing unit.
  • You will track pre-admission charts for missing documents prior to surgery.
  • You will take licensed independent practitioner orders for admissions, medications, and treatments.
  • You will conduct pre-operative teaching for surgery patients.
  • You will serve as a resource person to the PACU Coordinator and may function in pre-, intra-, or post-operative care, and may work with patients throughout each phase of the operative experience.

Requirements:

  • A current California Registered Nurse license is required.
  • BLS certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professionals) from the American Heart Association is required.
  • ACLS certification (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) from the American Heart Association is required.
  • PALS certification (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) from the American Heart Association is required.
  • IV certification is required.
