Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Inspector to join our team at the City of Round Rock, TX. As a Construction Inspector, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and safety of our city's infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with state, city, and local codes and specifications.
  • Conduct field inspections of capital roadway improvement projects, including new roadway sections, sub-grade preparation, base courses, curbing, and asphalt paving.
  • Oversee density testing, concrete testing, and asphalt testing.
  • Inspect all facets of new bridge construction for quality control and testing.
  • Inspect water mains, services, and fire lines, as well as wastewater mains, manholes, and reclaimed water mains and services.
  • Perform visual inspections for faulty materials and ensure ADA compliance.
  • Manage quality control by checking for accuracy and completeness of plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other departments to ensure smooth project execution.
Requirements
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in the construction field.
  • Class C Driver's License.
  • Ability to obtain a Class C Water Distribution license from the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) within three years of employment.
