CEI Inspector

Volkert Inc is seeking a skilled CEI Inspector to join our team in the Carolinas Region. As a CEI Inspector, you will play a crucial role in supporting our engineers and other professionals in the administration of highway construction.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with contract documents, standards, and specifications
- Test materials, review plans, and analyze engineering-related data
- Keep daily diaries on project operations and resolve daily constructability issues
- Monitor contractor's daily operations and perform test reports to ensure work and materials conform to specifications
- Document pay records, perform construction calculations, and enter data into computer/iPad systems
- Anticipate contractual problems and advise supervisors on plan revisions, supplemental agreements, or contract adjustments
- Ensure compliance with NC Sedimentation and Pollution Control Act and monitor work performed in permitted areas
- Effectively communicate and coordinate work with contractors, subcontractors, utility owners, and property owners
- Associate degree in an applicable area of Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related curriculum from an accredited institution
- 0-2 years of progressive inspection level experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Possess a valid driver's license
- Ability to perform moderate physical activity and lift 50 lbs
- Ability to work nights and weekends as required
- Must apply safety philosophy and program to all operations
