Job Title: Excavator Operator

Hubbard Construction is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in the heavy civil construction industry.

Job Summary:

The Excavator Operator will be responsible for operating an excavator to remove materials in a safe and efficient manner. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate an excavator in close proximity to equipment and the public safely
  • Perform daily fluid level checks on oil, water, and fuel, and conduct visual inspections for obvious leaks and damage to the machine
  • Responsible for daily maintenance of equipment to ensure it remains in proper and safe working order
  • Notify supervisor if equipment needs to be repaired
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Three to five years of industry-related experience, with an emphasis on roads, highways, and bridge construction
  • Ability to understand work directions and communicate effectively with job site supervisors and fellow employees
  • Physical demands include standing for extended periods, lifting and carrying heavy objects, and working in varying weather conditions
Work Environment:

The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, with frequent exposure to heavy equipment and moving machinery. The Excavator Operator must be able to work in a team environment and maintain a high level of safety awareness at all times.
