The strategist is responsible for creating detailed medical equipment plans, encompassing budgetary considerations and specifications for Kaiser Permanente facilities, including significant renovations and expansions.

  • Assist in the budget formulation and cost analysis process by leveraging in-depth knowledge of budget management to develop medical equipment budgets for capital projects. Collaborate with the team to review equipment costs, providing estimates throughout the project lifecycle and managing budgetary concerns with minimal oversight.
  • Contribute to comparative equipment evaluations by monitoring emerging healthcare technologies, assessing their relevance, and disseminating findings within the organization. Apply standard functional analysis processes to equipment as it pertains to operations and facilities, independently planning and scheduling work according to defined priorities.
  • Act as a representative of the organization by maintaining effective communication with internal and external contacts. Establish a proactive communication network among project teams, including architects, contractors, clinicians, and equipment vendors.
  • Provide medical equipment planning support for architectural design in national capital projects by developing standard and non-standard equipment planning documents. Leverage extensive knowledge of medical equipment planning to assist in meeting technical and environmental requirements with minimal oversight. Review contract documents and drawings to identify potential conflicts and coordinate with vendors to ensure proper equipment placement.
  • Specify medical equipment by evaluating and recommending suitable options for individual projects related to architectural design and construction. Prepare procurement lists and monitor procurement activities independently, collaborating with architectural consultants and contractors to resolve design conflicts.
  • Engage in project management activities by utilizing advanced project management techniques to consult with user groups and strategic partners. Conduct functional analyses of equipment in relation to operations and facilities, ensuring optimal use of medical equipment while considering cost efficiency and compliance with patient care standards.
Qualifications:
  • Associate's degree in medical, healthcare, architecture, engineering, construction management, or a related field, along with a minimum of three years of experience in medical equipment planning or a related environment; or a minimum of four years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Current, valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • Experience in medical equipment planning.
