Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Destruction Center Operations Specialist to join our team at Access Information Management. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our destruction center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Empty collected material from containers, cut open bags, and dump payloads, and empty roll-arounds.
- Sort material by grade, separate and discard rubbish, and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Inspect and perform scheduled Shred Plant equipment maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Clean the facility and containers to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
- Maintain strict security of material and trucks, and ensure the safe operation of equipment.
- Perform auditing and reporting tasks as scheduled or as requested.
- Observe and report any safety issues to direct supervisor, and maintain a safe and secure work environment.
- Utilize handheld bar code scanner and related PC as required with inventory systems, and maintain accurate records.
- Operate mobile equipment in a safe and practical manner, following company policies and standards.
- Handle all physical requirements for loading, unloading, transporting, and driving without assistance.
- Interact professionally with clients, and communicate regularly with direct supervisor to notify of any potential issues.
Secondary Responsibilities:
- Participate in safety and security drills, and advise the appropriate manager of any violations.
- Know and understand defined role in the Company Disaster Recovery Plan, and ensure all accidents and injuries are reported immediately to supervisor.
- Advise the appropriate manager of any issues requiring immediate attention, including customer complaints or vehicle issues.
- Collaborate with team members, and work overtime as necessary.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment substance abuse screening and background check.
- Willingness to operate a forklift, Bobcat, and/or pick lift.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Basic computer skills, and ability to complete paperwork accurately and completely.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, and follow directions.
- Customer-focused attitude, and ability to clearly communicate in reading, writing, and speaking.
- Physical ability to routine lifting of 20-60 pounds, grip, lift, push, pull, and carry wheeled, plastic bins over, up and down inclines, stairs, changes in walking surfaces and elevations.
