Position Overview
The Department of Pathology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is excited to announce an opportunity for an academic pathologist specializing in autopsy pathology. This recruitment is driven by the need to enhance our autopsy case load at the UAB Regional Autopsy Center.

Key Responsibilities
We are seeking applications for a full-time, tenure-track position within the Department of Pathology, School of Medicine. The ideal candidates will possess the following qualifications:
  • M.D. or D.O. or M.D. Ph.D.
  • Board Certification in Anatomic Pathology
  • Eligibility for a medical license in Alabama

Qualifications
The successful candidate, particularly those beyond the Assistant Professor level, should demonstrate a national reputation in academic pathology and possess a proven track record in competitive research, whether basic, translational, or clinically focused.

Preferred Expertise
We will favor candidates with subspecialty expertise in:
  • Autopsy/Forensic Pathology
  • Perinatal or Pediatric Pathology
  • Cardiovascular Pathology
  • Undergraduate Medical Education
