Early Education Assistant Teacher

As an Assistant Early Education Teacher at the YMCA of Greater Boston, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, healthy, and engaging environment for young children. Under the direction of the Lead Teacher and Child Development Director, you will assist in planning and implementing classroom curriculum, communicating with families, and maintaining a high-quality learning space.
Key Responsibilities- Safety First: Ensure the well-being and safety of children at all times, creating a family-friendly atmosphere that is inclusive and conducive to learning.
- Positive Role Modeling: Demonstrate the YMCA's core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility through your actions and behavior.
- Behavior Guidance: Use positive and constructive methods to guide children's behavior, promoting a culture of respect and responsibility.
- Classroom Management: Supervise children and manage transitions smoothly, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Lead Teacher to design and maintain the classroom space, as well as participate in regular staff meetings and training sessions.
- Assessment and Progress: Assist with assessments and progress reports, providing valuable insights into children's development and growth.
- Curriculum Development: Create a well-balanced curriculum that supports children's social, emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development.
- Training and Development: Participate in designated hours of training per year, enhancing your skills and knowledge to better support children's learning.
- Education and Certification: Working towards EEC certification of qualifications and First Aid and CPR certification.
- Skills and Knowledge: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with families, children, and staff.
