Position Summary
The Production Supervisor serves as a key resource for the production team, taking charge of daily operations and ensuring effective coordination of activities during shifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Prioritizes safety, ensuring that all team members adhere to safe working practices and intervenes when necessary.
- Communicates effectively with staff regarding any changes or updates within the production facility.
- Demonstrates leadership by mentoring and motivating production employees, fostering a professional environment where individuals are recognized and valued.
- Addresses performance issues and behavioral concerns in alignment with the company’s core values.
- Possesses comprehensive knowledge of production line operations, guiding employees in their roles and ensuring adherence to operational procedures.
- Embraces a mindset of continuous improvement, encouraging team members to suggest enhancements and actively working to implement viable solutions.
- Optimizes the use of labor and resources to enhance productivity and efficiency.
- Handles supervisory duties, including employee scheduling, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and addressing employee inquiries.
- Completes and reviews necessary documentation and daily reports for the department.
- May require occasional travel for orientation purposes following hiring.
Qualifications
- Strong conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities.
- Self-motivated with the capacity to work independently.
- Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding employee and company information.
- Familiarity with various software applications (MS Word, Excel, ERP) and office equipment.
- Goal-oriented, confident, and capable of thriving under pressure.
Education and Experience Requirements
- An Associate Degree accompanied by 5 years of experience in food processing or packaging, OR a Bachelor’s Degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
- Previous experience in a food production or manufacturing setting is preferred.
Work Schedule
- 2nd Shift: Monday through Friday, 2:00 PM - 10:00 PM CT, with early arrivals and late departures for shift transitions. Saturday shifts may be required occasionally.
Compensation
- Salary range of $68,000 - $73,000, commensurate with experience, along with relocation assistance.
