We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Nurse Anesthetist to join our team at the US Veterans Health Administration. As a Certified Nurse Anesthetist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and anesthesia services to our patients.
Key Responsibilities:- Initiate and manage anesthesia techniques, including general, regional, local, and IV sedation.
- Select and apply non-invasive and invasive monitoring modalities to continuously evaluate patient physical status.
- Select, obtain, and administer anesthetics, adjuvant and accessory drugs, and fluids necessary to manage anesthesia.
- Manage patient airway and pulmonary status using current practice modalities.
- Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia by selecting, obtaining, ordering, and administering medications, fluids, and ventilator support.
- Discharge patients from post-anesthesia care areas and provide post-anesthesia follow-up evaluation and care as needed.
- Respond to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids and drugs, and using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques.
- Implement acute pain management modalities.
- Perform fiberoptic bronchoscopy.
- Advanced Practice Nurse (Certified Nurse Anesthetist) Basic Requirements:
- English Language Proficiency.
- Education: A masters or doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia.
- Licensure and Certification: The following licensure and certification requirements are considered conditions of employment.
- License: All APN (CNAs) must maintain an active, current, full and unrestricted license to practice as a CNA or equivalent, in a State, Territory or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia.
- Basic Certification: All APN (CNAs) must maintain full and current certification by the National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) or an equivalent Nurse Anesthetist certification recognized by the COA.
- Two years of experience.
