Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Memorial Hermann Health System. As a Medical Technologist, you will be responsible for performing various laboratory tests and procedures, ensuring the highest level of quality and accuracy in patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform and document test results, quality control, maintenance procedures, and associated corrective actions according to policy and procedure.
  • Manage and perform other aspects of daily lab operations, including collections, sample processing, results reporting and distribution, personnel direction, and clerical duties as required.
  • Interact with hospital personnel, volunteers, physicians, and patients to ensure seamless communication and coordination of laboratory services.
  • Comply with policies, procedures, and initiatives of laboratory services, the hospital, and the system, including standards and conditions set forth by governmental and accrediting agencies.
  • Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors, adhering to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications.
  • Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory and continuing education and skills competency.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in biological science (equivalency required for foreign education).
  • Medical Technologist (ASCP) or Medical Technologist (AMT) certification, or Certified MLS (ASCP or ASCP-International) certification.
  • Two years of full-time acceptable laboratory experience in Blood Banking, Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology, Immunology, and Urinalysis/Body Fluids in the U.S., Canada, or an accredited laboratory.
