About the Role

STAND 8 Technology Services is seeking a highly skilled Linux Support Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our IT infrastructure team, you will be responsible for providing top-notch support for our clients' Linux-based systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Infrastructure Support
    • Develop and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless delivery of infrastructure solutions.
    • Provide level 1/2 operational support for ticket completion, incident management, and problem management resolution.
    • Collaborate with the cyber security team to build repeatable systems with security best practices and hardening.
  • Client Management
    • Partner with business teams to build and articulate technical requirements and recommendations.
    • Provide strong customer service skills and unfailing professionalism.
    • Track timelines, manage priorities, and set client expectations.
  • Monitoring and Security
    • Collaborate with the cyber security team to ensure compliance with PCI and SOX procedures and controls.
    • Preferred familiarity with block/file/object storage technologies, backup technologies, and high availability designs.
Requirements
  • B.S. degree in an Information Technology related technical discipline or 4+ equivalent practical experience.
  • Must be willing to work evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Experience with management/build/troubleshooting of virtualization/OS technologies, specifically VMware & Windows & Linux.
  • Experience with OS/HW level monitoring and performance management.
  • Working knowledge of networking protocols, routing, and network topology.
  • Manage and implement automated operational tasks to improve reliability and standards.
  • Some scripting experience, e.g., Python, Ansible, Shell, PowerShell, GIT, Tower, and CI/CD methodologies.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies working in JIRA-based sprint structures.

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow or other ITSM-related toolsets.
