Orthopedic Surgical Technologist

This part-time position is responsible for assisting surgeons with surgical procedures, maintaining accurate inventory and supply counts, and ordering necessary equipment and supplies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of surgical procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Assist surgeons with surgical procedures, ensuring that all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
• Maintain accurate inventory and supply counts, ordering necessary equipment and supplies as needed.
• Ensure that all equipment and supplies are properly cleaned and decontaminated.
• Assist with the transfer of patients to and from the operating room.
• Participate in ensuring accurate sponge, needle, and instrument counts during surgery.
• Supply and instruments pulled for cases by reviewing physician preference card.
• Assist in cleaning the operating room.
• Maintain proper supplies and appropriate medical equipment.
• Input patient charges into the computer in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ordering and restocking of supplies and instruments.
• Properly cleans and decontaminates equipment and supplies.
• Maintains accurate equipment records.

• Valid certification as a Certified Surgical Technician (required).
• Minimum of two years of orthopedic scrub tech experience (required).
• BLS (required).

• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Proficiency with computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications and electronic health records systems.
• Ability to multitask effectively, dealing with phone calls, patients, staff, and others pleasantly.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Strong reasoning/clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent time management, collaboration, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
