DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

The Parts Specialist is tasked with sourcing and supplying parts for customers. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills and sufficient product knowledge to understand all relevant components necessary for various jobs. While forklift experience is advantageous, it is not mandatory. Daily tasks involve using schematics to pinpoint specific parts, liaising with vendors for procurement, determining shipping methods, processing orders, and ensuring timely delivery of repair parts to customers.

KEY SKILLS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management abilities
  • Proficient computer skills, including typing and familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong collaborative skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Basic understanding of forklifts, parts, and their functionalities
  • General knowledge of inventory management practices
  • Maintain the Purchase Order (PO) system and monitor outstanding POs
  • Ability to source parts, including aftermarket options
  • Adhere to all 5S policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate a competitive spirit and self-motivated attitude
  • Occasional operation of forklift equipment (internal training provided)
  • Ongoing company-sponsored parts procurement training is mandatory
  • Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

A minimum of 3 years in parts procurement is preferred.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma or GED is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position is primarily office-based, with a noise level that ranges from quiet to moderate, especially near the shop area. Employees may need to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms. Normal manual dexterity is required for effective keyboard and phone use. Occasionally, employees must lift or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this role include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
