As a dedicated EHS Specialist, you will serve as a shift representative for our Louisville, KY Fulfillment Center, coordinating and implementing all aspects of the Chewy EHS Program as guided by leadership. Your role will promote a positive environment while adhering to Chewy standards and maintaining a safe work environment.

The Role:

  • Coordinating and Implementing EHS Program: Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective EHS program that ensures compliance with applicable federal and state laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Safety Training and Awareness: Provide training and guidance to Team Members on observed at-risk behaviors, promoting a culture of safety awareness and proactive engagement.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment introductions, recommending appropriate mitigation measures to leadership.
  • Incident Investigation and Reporting: Facilitate incident investigations, ensuring accurate reporting and adherence to EHS standards.
  • Data Analysis and Metrics: Maintain accurate daily, weekly, and monthly metrics, utilizing corporate-based reporting systems to provide data-driven insights for leadership.

Requirements:

  • Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum 1 year in an EHS-related field, or bachelor's degree in an EHS-relevant field, or 6 months experience performing in a safety-related role within Chewy.
  • OSHA Regulations and Knowledge: Familiarity with OSHA regulations, specifically 29 CFR 1910.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated ability to develop and implement department objectives and strategies, as well as maintain confidentiality in personnel matters.
