Job Overview
As a Water Resources Engineer within the Rail Water Resources team, you will engage in a variety of engineering responsibilities associated with hydrologic and hydraulic analysis for major railroad initiatives.

Your role will involve assisting in the creation of foundational plan production, compiling technical documentation, reviewing CAD schematics, and securing necessary permits at local, state, and federal levels for water resource projects.

This position plays a vital role in fostering innovative ideas and crafting designs that deliver effective, high-quality solutions to meet engineering and design challenges.


Key Responsibilities:


1. Contributes to small-scale design components for engineering projects by utilizing fundamental knowledge, standard practices, and established methodologies for projects of varying sizes.

2. Engages in basic plan production while receiving guidance for essential tasks.

3. Develops and leverages knowledge and experience with design and modeling software.

4. Aids in the preparation of project documentation and timelines, and conducts design calculations within a defined scope.

5. Collaborates with seasoned engineers and designers on advanced techniques and processes.

6. Conducts research, proposes solutions, and drafts technical reports using established methods.

7. Provides mentorship to student interns, offering opportunities to cultivate fundamental technical skills and knowledge.

8. Gains proficiency in managing project and client information within the firm's project management system.

9. May oversee student staff.

10. Travel to project sites is necessary for field reconnaissance across diverse terrains and weather conditions.
