Position Summary

We are currently seeking on-call Archaeology Field Technicians to support various survey and excavation initiatives within our expanding teams. Our field crews operate across multiple states, engaging in projects for both private and public sector clients. Successful candidates will primarily be based out of our office but will participate in projects throughout the region. Upcoming projects include significant excavation and survey efforts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct archaeological fieldwork under the guidance of a field supervisor, including surveys, testing, monitoring, and data recovery excavations.
  • Document artifacts and site features using GPS technology, create maps of archaeological sites, and maintain detailed records.
  • Assist in processing and cataloging artifacts under the supervision of laboratory staff.
  • Engage in preliminary analysis and laboratory tasks as directed.
  • Organize and digitize records and documentation.
  • Support senior staff in conducting record searches and compiling report data.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of an Associate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related discipline. Relevant field experience or completion of an archaeological field school may substitute for educational requirements.
  • Prior experience in archaeological work is preferred.
  • Capability to perform fieldwork for extended hours in diverse conditions, including varying temperatures and challenging terrains.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 60 pounds.
  • Willingness to travel for work assignments, often with short notice.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation and Benefits

The hourly pay for this position ranges from $22.00 to $29.00.
