Job Title: Auditor

Join The City of Hartford as an Auditor and contribute to the administration of the City's finance program. As a key member of the Internal Audit Department, you will assist in planning and supervising audit procedures, inspecting and auditing financial transactions, and formulating audit procedures to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of municipal accounting systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the administration of the City's finance program, including planning and supervising audit procedures.
  • Inspect and audit financial transactions, including accounts and records of financial transactions.
  • Formulate and apply audit procedures to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of municipal accounting systems.
  • Investigate discrepancies in accounts and make reports based on findings.
  • Participate in planning general policies and programs.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree with major coursework in accounting or business administration.
  • Three years of increasingly responsible experience in accounting or auditing.
  • Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Hartford residency.
  • Bona-fide resident of the City of Hartford at the time of application.
