Job Description

At Red Lion Inn, we are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Serving Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dining staff, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and ensuring a memorable dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and Seating Guests:
    • Welcome guests warmly and ensure they are comfortable and have menus.
    • Assist in seating guests and maintain a clean and organized dining area.
  • Taking Orders:
    • Accurately record and relay customer orders to the kitchen staff.
    • Address any guest inquiries about the menu and provide recommendations.
  • Table Maintenance:
    • Ensure tables are clean, properly set, and ready for guests.
    • Clear and reset tables after guests depart, maintaining a high level of cleanliness and organization.
  • Food and Drink Service:
    • Serve dishes and beverages to guests, following established service standards.
    • Refill water glasses and attend to guest needs during the meal, ensuring a seamless dining experience.
  • Assistance to Waitstaff:
    • Support waitstaff in delivering food and beverages, maintaining a high level of efficiency and teamwork.
    • Collaborate with waitstaff to ensure a seamless dining experience and exceed guest expectations.
  • Guest Relations:
    • Respond to guest inquiries and special requests courteously and promptly, demonstrating a commitment to exceptional customer service.
    • Assist in resolving any guest concerns or issues with professionalism and a positive attitude.
  • Billing and Payment:
    • Present bills to guests and handle payments accurately, ensuring a smooth and efficient checkout process.
    • Express appreciation to guests and invite them to return, fostering a loyal customer base.
  • Cleanliness and Maintenance:
    • Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the dining area, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and safety.
    • Assist in restocking dining supplies, such as condiments and utensils, to ensure a seamless dining experience.
  • Compliance and Safety:
    • Follow all safety and hygiene protocols, including hand washing and proper food handling, to maintain a safe and healthy environment for guests and staff.
    • Adhere to company policies and local regulations, including alcohol service laws if applicable, to ensure compliance and avoid any potential issues.

Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with excellent customer service and communication skills, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. A professional appearance and demeanor are essential for this role, as well as the ability to bend, stoop, stand for long periods of time, lift 30 pounds, and push carts weighing up to 150 pounds. Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is also required.
