Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner will work in collaboration with the attending physician, primary nurse, and other healthcare providers to provide family-centered care to patients with specialized health needs.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct patient assessments and complete physical examinations, collecting clinical data, including vital signs, and preparing patients for tests, therapy, or treatments.
  • Order and interpret medical laboratory test results, diagnose medical conditions, administer medications or treatments, and perform minor surgery.
  • Apply knowledge of anatomy, principles of neurology, microbiology, physiology, psychology, human disabilities, pharmacology, gerontology, human growth and development, human developmental disease, and medical terminology as appropriate in the care setting.
  • Complete accurate patient coding for effective billing, maintain accurate and detailed patient medical reports, and maintain inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
  • Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure the smooth flow of patient processing, treatment, and discharge, including patient triaging.
  • Act as a mentor to new staff and/or physician assistant students.
Qualifications
  • Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Successful completion and maintenance of ACLS and BLS.
  • Able to quickly master all aspects of a computerized medical recordkeeping and billing system.
  • Must project a professional image and earn the confidence of others.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
  • Must be HIPAA compliant at all times.
  • NP - Nurse Practitioner - Licensed Upon Hire.
  • ATLS - Advanced Trauma Life Support Upon Hire.
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Upon Hire.
